Orientation of Student Coordinators about the Adult Literacy Programme.
Preparing the list of students (Student enrolment form) who commit to the

the Adult Literacy Program

Collect information of literacy status of the village from the panchayat. Use Form ALV4 Download Now
Conduct door to door survey to identify Adult Learner. Use Form ALV2 - Download

Make a list of all the adults in the village. Use Form ALV3 - Download Now
Identify a person to be an Akshar sathi. Akshar sathi who is responsible to teach a
group of 30 to a maximum of 40 adults.
Akshar sathi needs to be oriented. Motivational video and How to Teach Video to be
shown by the University, headed by the Teacher in charge.
Akshar sathi to register himself/herself and the adult learner at the Adult Literacy
portal
ILM educational kits are to be requested for each Akshar sathi and adult learner by
the university after all Adults and Akshar sathi have registered.
Final Training for Akshar sathi about the Programme and Adult Literacy Kit (ALK) at
the community by Student Coordinator/ Coordinator followed by Distribution of ALK.
Akshar sathi starts teaching and uploads attendance and photos for every class
taken.
Akshar sathi to fill the 30 sessions feedback form after completion of 30 sessions.
Akshar sathi to fill the 60 sessions feedback form after completion of 60 sessions.
Exams for adult learners to be conducted.
Assessments are to be done by the University.
Certification of adult learner and Akshar sathi (can be downloaded from the portal)

location of centres, centre start date)
ILM will orient the NGOs heads on the programme, MIS and project implementation
and teaching methodology after submission of an EOI.
After understanding the programme the NGO is to submit a proposal according to

Upon approval of plan by ILM an MOU to be signed with NGOs.
Registration of NGO and their centres to be done on Adult literacy portal.
NGO to meet Panchayat Pradhan or other officials and share about the Adult
Literacy Program

Each Akshar sathi will teach 30 to a maximum of 40 Adult non-literate in a
community centre.

NGOs to request ILM’s Adult Literacy Tool-kits from the portal
NGO after fulfilling the 1st fund disbursal criteria (completing all registration Centers,
Akshar Sathi’s and Learners), will request the instalment through ILM’s portal.

NGO after fulfilling the 3rd fund disbursal criteria (filling of 60 session feedback form
of all active learners, will request the instalment through ILM’s portal) and provide
the UC of previous instalment.
Exams for adult learners to be conducted.
Assessment to be done by NGOs and marks to be uploaded for each AL on the portal
by the Akshar sathi.
Certification of adult learner and Akshar sathi (can be downloaded from the portal).
Certificates for Akshar sathi and NGO to be received after assessment by ILM.
NGO after fulfilling the 4th fund disbursal criteria (filling of exam marks, downloading
and handing over the certificates of all active learners), will request the instalment
through ILM’s portal.
