1. Universities to orient and accordingly appoint Teacher Coordinator about the adult literacy programme and develop a comprehensive plan of action
2. Registration of University, Head of the Institution, Teacher Coordinator at the Adult Literacy Portal
3. Orientation of Student Coordinators about the Adult Literacy Programme.
4. Preparing the list of students (Student enrolment form) who commit to the programme. Use Form ALV1 - Download Now
5. University Student coordinator to meet the Panchayat Pradhan to tell them about the Adult Literacy Program Program
6. Collect information of literacy status of the village from the panchayat. Use Form ALV4 Download Now
7. Conduct door to door survey to identify Adult Learner. Use Form ALV2 - Download Now
8. Make a list of all the adults in the village. Use Form ALV3 - Download Now
9. Identify a person to be an Akshar sathi. Akshar sathi who is responsible to teach a group of 30 to a maximum of 40 adults.
10. Akshar sathi needs to be oriented. Motivational video and How to Teach Video to be shown by the University, headed by the Teacher in charge.
11. Akshar sathi to register himself/herself and the adult learner at the Adult Literacy portal
12. ILM educational kits are to be requested for each Akshar sathi and adult learner by the university after all Adults and Akshar sathi have registered.
13. Final Training for Akshar sathi about the Programme and Adult Literacy Kit (ALK) at the community by Student Coordinator/ Coordinator followed by Distribution of ALK.
14. Akshar sathi starts teaching and uploads attendance and photos  for every class taken.
15. Akshar sathi to fill the 30 sessions feedback form after completion of 30 sessions.
16. Akshar sathi to fill the 60 sessions feedback form after completion of 60 sessions.
17. Exams for adult learners to be conducted.
18. Assessments are to be done by the University.
19. Certification of adult learner and Akshar sathi (can be downloaded from the portal)

NGOs to submit a Plan Download Now

(org details, centre numbers, ALs, methodology used to identify adult learners, location of centres, centre start date)

1. ILM will orient the NGOs heads on the programme, MIS and project implementation and teaching methodology after submission of an EOI.
2. After understanding the programme the NGO is to submit a proposal according to ILM format. (add hyperlink here)
3. Upon approval of plan by ILM an MOU to be signed with NGOs.
4. Registration of NGO and their centres to be done on Adult literacy portal.
5. NGO  to meet Panchayat Pradhan or other officials and share about the Adult Literacy Program
6. Collect information of literacy status of the village from the panchayat. Use Form ALV4 Download Now
7. Conduct door to door survey to identify Adult Learner if information from Panchayat is not adequate. Use Form ALV2 - Download Now

11. Each Akshar sathi will teach 30 to a maximum of 40 Adult non-literate in a community centre.
12. Akshar sathi to register themselves and tag to their respective assigned centres.
13. Akshar sathi to register Adult learners on the portal.
14. NGOs to request ILM’s Adult Literacy Tool-kits from the portal
15. NGO after fulfilling the 1st fund disbursal criteria (completing all registration Centers, Akshar Sathi’s and Learners), will request the instalment through ILM’s portal.
16. Akshar sathi starts teaching and uploads attendance and photos  for every class taken.
17. Akshar sathi to fill the 30 sessions feedback form after completion of 30 sessions.
18. Akshar sathi to fill the 60 sessions feedback form after completion of 60 sessions.
19. NGO after fulfilling the 3rd fund disbursal criteria (filling of 60 session feedback form of all active learners, will request the instalment through ILM’s portal) and provide the UC of previous instalment.
20. Exams for adult learners to be conducted.
21. Assessment to be done by NGOs and marks to be uploaded for each AL on the portal by the Akshar sathi.
22. Certification of adult learner and Akshar sathi (can be downloaded from the portal).
23. Certificates for Akshar sathi and NGO to be received after assessment by ILM.
24. NGO after fulfilling the 4th fund disbursal criteria (filling of exam marks, downloading and handing over the certificates of all active learners), will request the instalment through ILM’s portal.
